Though it's a small venue, it's a great place to see a band. (Or perform) The venue seems to take their shows and the bands seriously and professionally. The decor is dedicated to past performers and they put actual effort into fliers and promo, which is becoming rare these days.
What a nice place! Great venue for live music and an intimate atmosphere with friend and the bands. Don't judge this book by it's cover...get in and enjoy the stay. Friendly and attentive staff and great beverage prices. See you again next time!
Very cool bar just beside the sculpture garden. The staff there awesome. Their sound guy is one of the best in the Des Moines area. My cover band Sticks & Picks just played a show there and they have great acoustics!
I have been at the gaslamp several times for various concerts or dance parties. I really enjoy the small size of the venue for the intimacy and they have some pretty good beers on tap. It does get pretty packed and hard to get waited on if something is going on that night.
It was cool it was open mic night met a couple of cool people and ran into a couple of acquaintances that I ran into other places I'm kind of hard to forget LOL
